  9. No, I rode this escalator and it's unreal to see how the majority of Japanese will stand on it rather than just walk down.

    In some stations there will be a line of 20+ people to stand on an escalator instead of walking up.

  21. i think the reason is for ppl not getting stuck in the middle of the stairway, or chatting and contemplating. it makes sense to me, and im not japanese
