maybe it was regular escalator before.. and maybe something happened like land subsidence by earthquake..? im kinda curious there is a little history or not.
i think the reason is for ppl not getting stuck in the middle of the stairway, or chatting and contemplating. it makes sense to me, and im not japanese
...For what purpose...
ReplyDeleteBut why? Why is this needed?
ReplyDeletelol Japanese people walk funny...
ReplyDeletethe best part is that you have to take the stairs down afterwards...so its really just for the laughs i guess XD
ReplyDeleteStairs right after it and why do they only go downwards? Would make a lot more sense if they went up.
ReplyDeletetheyr missing a second escalator after that...there was still more stairs xD
ReplyDelete....maybe its suppose to be a joke...right?
ReplyDeleteFail
ReplyDeleteI like that they have to walk down more stairs!
ReplyDeletei have an escalator like that at my mall
ReplyDeletein new jersey
No, I rode this escalator and it's unreal to see how the majority of Japanese will stand on it rather than just walk down.
ReplyDeleteIn some stations there will be a line of 20+ people to stand on an escalator instead of walking up.
Purpose = so Japan can be as fat as the US & Mexico ;)
ReplyDeleteJapan: Adding that VERY-little piece of false hope to over weight people everywhere.

ReplyDeleteDid they just give up when installing it?
ReplyDeleteThey must have had left over parts and left over budget.

ReplyDeletedont know whats worse, that there were stairs right after it... or the fact that this video is 41 seconds long
