Yatta

I get emailed this video almost every day. If I had a nickle for every time I've seen naked asian men dancing in my inbox I'd be able to take the ads off this site. People seem to love this stuff. I mean just look at their adoring fans in the audience.

  12. Yeah haha this isn't for real - it's a total comedic parody in Japan. "Green Leaves" isn't a real 'band,' it's a collection of Japanese comedians and actors who got together to make fun of Japanese boy bands.

Basically, "YATTA!" is to Japan as "I'm On A Boat" is to America - a comic parody of another musical genre. :) Still funny and weird as hell, tho.

  18. Jay I really appreciate your comments that help us understand what's happening. Is it the japanese being the japanese, in that wonderful wacky way they do it, or is it the japanese doing satire on their own wtf-ery. I can't separate the parody from the profundity without an interpreter. It doesn't seem right to ask a culturally japanese person to sort this out for us while we essentially mock their homeland.
