Hausu
This is a clip from the 1977 movie Hausu, which is possibly the greatest horror movie ever made. This segment is fairly indicative of the whole movie, it's pretty much just an hour and a half of various household items eating people. Sometimes they throw in a couple shots of cats making strange facial expressions, but mostly it's just lampshades and pianos decapitating schoolgirls. Who could ask for anything more?

i like how the lamp is not greedy and shares its prey with other things in the house, like the cat in the poster and the dresser.
ReplyDeleteLOL could here be a less horrific movie? now I'm afraid my bed will swallow me hole... or not.

ReplyDeleteI have to say, that I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. It's not particularly scary and it's not particularly wowing, but it has its charm; that is to say, it's hilarious in a WTF way. I say that if you have the opportunity to see it, see it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so creepy.
ReplyDeleteI was like flipping out for awhile to the point where I had to go down one post and watch "Shingo Mama"
I watched the whole movie, and it was a lot of WTF. case in point, Togo Sensei turning into a great big pile of bananas. Really? It, as a whole, was amusing.
ReplyDeleteIn Tulsa, Oklahoma there is an independent/rare/WTF cinema called Circle Cinema. I had the pleasure of watching Hausu on the big screen.

ReplyDelete...wth did i just watch?LMAO that was...wow.
ReplyDeleteI saw these movie at one Japan Movies Horror Festival. It was the funniest horror movie I have ever seen. Was it intentional? A bit. At the start of the movie, there was this shot of the cast seemingly standing in an open field. When the shot became wide, they were shown to be on a mountain, and the sky was just a background. There was a also a gag reel at the end. I think they were trying to be funny.
ReplyDeleteI rented this movie after I saw the clip and I have to say it's worth buying. You could watch this over and over again and it doesn't get boring. The craziest scene is this girl getting eaten by a piano. There's also a cat that starts singing along to the music. It's absolute WTF halariously perfect^^
ReplyDeleteI like how they continue to do their homework like any Asian student would
ReplyDeleteMy god in Heaven..This is freakin hilarious.

Criterion will also be releasing the DVD of this fine film.
Okay, lampshade eats schoolgirl and drives her onto an epic LSD trip to death, whilst her lower half is spat back out and FALCON KICKs the cat picture, which freaks the hell out of a real cat, and rips the clothes off of the ghost lady, causing her to bleed out from her right shoulder.
ReplyDelete... damn I love Japan.
