Ganguro Girls
Ganguro is a fashion trend in Japan where teenage girls try to emulate the tan bimbos of America. It started with a little bronzer but escalated into full black face and pink 80s hair. Extreme Ganguro girls are called Yamanba, which roughly translates to mountain hag. This isn't a derogatory term, these girls are actually trying to go for the mountain hag look.

ALSO, to the dumbasses who say its old style. yes it started in the 90s but it's still going strong. i lived in japan and i saw many ganguros and gyarus. you know NOTHING until you've been to japan.

hmm I've actually seen this style done in a cute way, my niece is african american and does something similar. of course, her skin is a natural honey/brown color and she uses white eye shadow and then goes and does that winged black eyeliner thing over it. The best way I could describe it is that she does the ganguro style in a tidy way, and when she's done she looks like a cute little reverse panda with pink hair ^^
